Dive Equipment Sanitation

(COVID 19 Safety Protocols)

Coral Point Diving offers a personalized dive service; we do not cater to the masses. We only dive in small groups & offer small PADI training classes. The safety of our staff and customers is our main priority. For this reason, our business model is implementing safe social distancing measures and sanitation protocols to minimize risks for our divers.
Below are the procedures we have strictly adopted at Coral Point Diving.

At the DIVE CENTER

Mandatory to keep a distance greater than 2 meters from other people within the facility.
Mandatory to wear a sanitary mask inside the facility. Alcohol/disinfectant gel dispenser (containing alcohol solution of at least 60% isopropanol or etanol at least 70%) are located randomly at the shop for your use.Spaced positions are provided for the assembly and disassembly of equipment

On a BOAT

The number of divers and/or passengers on board our boats is established according to compliance with the safety distance imposed by the ARD (Armada Dominican Republic) and related to the Dominican law.
Remain seated in front of your scuba equipment during the transfer to the dive sites. Disinfectant dispenser on the boat are available for the whole trip.

DIVING

In case of a ‘low on air emergency situation’ the primary regulator cannot be shared but the donor will pass the alternate air source octopus.
Emergency cylinder + regulator lowered under the boat and spare regulators will be sanitized after each possible use

DISINFECTION and SANITATION (for scuba/snorkeling equipment)

The rinsing tanks are prepared with specific products for sanitization and will be separated by type of equipment. We use Steramine Tablets (on the EPA list of antimicrobial agents that meet their criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2) in a solution of 1 tablet per gallon.
The regulators and the snorkels will be treated separately, They will be sanitized at the end of the day with a solution of sodium hypochlorite (standard household bleach) and water, using 1 percent of bleach only as recommended by DAN and they will be stored in the equipment room away from any other human contact immediately afterward.
