Coral Point Diving is a PADI dive shop, operating for 14 years, strategically located on the beach that overviews the whole bay of Bayahibe, a breathtaking and picturesque fisherman village on the Southern of Dominican Republic.
.
The following are the options that Coral Point Diving offers to start diving. In addition to the classic PADI Open Water Diver initial course, there is a program, called Discover Scuba Diving, with which you are qualified to do a sea dive accompanied by an Instructor. If you are not sure that the Open Water Course is the best option for you try the Discover Scuba Diving. If you wish you can then continue with the complete course without losing any money or time, in fact the 90 dollars you pay for this program will then be discounted from the total cost of $ 395 for the Open Water Diver Course, if you decide to continue at end of this experience
Availability depends on dates, certification level and group size. To ensure the best experience and proper organization, we recommend contacting our team to check availability, receive detailed information and plan your activity with us.
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to breathe underwater? Discover Scuba Diving is a relaxed, half‑day experience designed for beginners who want to try diving without enrolling in a full certification course.
Under the direct supervision of a PADI Instructor, you learn the basic skills and enjoy a real open‑water dive in calm conditions. If you enjoy the experience, it can be credited toward your PADI Open Water Diver course. A certified friend can join the same dive.
The activity starts at 8:30 am with a short orientation and confined‑water practice (breathing, equalization, mask and regulator skills). You then dive easy sites such as Viva Shallow or Atlantic Princess (max depth 12 m). Return around 12:30–1:00 pm.
The PADI Open Water Diver course is your first full scuba certification. It provides solid diving skills while developing awareness and respect for the reef environment through professional instruction.
The course includes all learning materials, equipment, boat dives and certification.

Visit the BlogKeep neutral buoyancy and horizontal trim. Add small air bursts to your BCD and move slowly to protect corals and visibility.
Use gentle frog kicks or modified flutter. Avoid stirring the bottom—sand clouds reduce visibility and can damage marine life.
Look, don’t touch. Keep a respectful distance from turtles, rays and seahorses; never chase or block their path.
Check pressure and NDL regularly with your buddy. Signal your guide at 100 bar and start a relaxed ascent plan.
Keep hands close to the body; use slow finning to hold position. Avoid grabbing rocks, corals or the boat ladder underwater.
Use reef‑safe sunscreen, bring a reusable bottle, and follow your guide’s eco‑briefing to minimize impact.
