Coral Point Diving PADI

The following are the options that Coral Point Diving offers to start diving. In addition to the classic PADI Open Water Diver initial course, there is a program, called Discover Scuba Diving, with which you are qualified to do a sea dive accompanied by an Instructor. If you are not sure that the Open Water Course is the best option for you try the Discover Scuba Diving. If you wish you can then continue with the complete course without losing any money or time, in fact the 80 dollars you pay for this program will then be discounted from the total cost of $ 390 for the Open Water Diver Course, if you decide to continue at end of this experience

Dive Today – Discover Scuba Diving

Have you always wondered what it's like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but are not yet ready to embark on a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. You can try diving near you or during your holidays in the Dominican Republic, while this is not a diving certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world! If you really like this program, your experience can count for your PADI Open Water Diver course. A certified friend can join the same trip, dive sites are the same for certified and uncertified: while the DSD student practices skills, the certified diver makes a fun dive.

Description

  • Minimum age required: 10 years
  • Half day duration
  • 1 confined water session and 1 open water dive
  • Price: US$ 90 (1 dive, 1 dive site) / US$ 120 (2 dives, 2 sites) (same day)

The experience starts at 8:30 am with a short orientation, theory and confined‑water practice (breathing, equalization, regulator recoCertivery & clearing, mask clearing). After having practiced few skills in confined water we use most of the time easy sites like Viva Shallow or Atlantic Princess (max 12 m), always accompanied by a PADI Instructor. Return around 12:30–1:00 pm.

 

 

Open Water Diver Course - training at Coral Point

PADI Open Water Diver (2 or 3 days)

Our Open Water Diver program is designed to give you solid scuba skills while helping you understand and respect the reef environment. Training includes high‑quality instruction plus environmental and conservation knowledge such as reef interaction and species ID.

The course includes all learning materials, equipment, boat dives and certification fees.
Price: US$ 395 (all included).

Theoretical Part

You will receive immediate access to the digital manual after a small deposit, which is fully deducted from the final course price.

Practical Part – 3‑Day Program (Recommended)

Day 1 (8:30am–1pm): Course orientation, quick theory session, equipment review and 5 confined‑water sessions practicing buoyancy, mask skills, regulator recovery, safety and surface procedures.

Day 2 (8:30am–1pm): Open Water Dives 1 & 2 (max 12 m) exploring Bayahibe’s reefs, coral walls and the famous Atlantic Princess wreck.

Day 3 (8:30am–1pm): Dives 3 & 4 (max 18 m) focusing on buoyancy refinement and dive planning. You explore a vibrant reef with parrotfish, wrasse, eels, drumfish, squirrelfish and more.

1:00pm: Graduation ceremony & certification.

Scheduling Options

3‑day option (recommended): Day 1 Confined Water; Day 2 OW 1–2; Day 3 OW 3–4.

2‑day option (if available): Day 1 Confined Water + OW1; Day 2 OW2–3 + OW4.

NOTE: Schedule may vary depending on weather, logistics and student progress. Instructors may add extra confined‑water or open‑water sessions at no additional cost to ensure comfort and safety.

PADI Referral option

With the PADI Divers Education System, you can start your course at home and complete it here in Bayahibe with Coral Point Diving. Many students finish theory & pool in the US/Canada and leave the 4 Open Water dives for our warm Caribbean waters.

Bring your referral documents and book 2 days for the 4 OW dives.

The Coral Reef Conservation specialty teaches why coral reefs matter, how these intricate ecosystems function, and how you can help conserve them. Ideal for anyone interested in the marine environment — snorkelers and divers alike.

Buoyancy & Trim

Keep neutral buoyancy and horizontal trim. Add small air bursts to your BCD and move slowly to protect corals and visibility.

Fin Kicks

Use gentle frog kicks or modified flutter. Avoid stirring the bottom—sand clouds reduce visibility and can damage marine life.

Marine Life Etiquette

Look, don’t touch. Keep a respectful distance from turtles, rays and seahorses; never chase or block their path.

Gas & No‑Deco Checks

Check pressure and NDL regularly with your buddy. Signal your guide at 100 bar and start a relaxed ascent plan.

Hands Off

Keep hands close to the body; use slow finning to hold position. Avoid grabbing rocks, corals or the boat ladder underwater.

Eco Choice

Use reef‑safe sunscreen, bring a reusable bottle, and follow your guide’s eco‑briefing to minimize impact.
