The PADI Instructor Examination (IE) is the final step in becoming a certified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Conducted over two intensive days, the IE is a standardized, objective evaluation administered by official PADI Instructor Examiners. Its purpose is to assess whether candidates can independently teach and supervise PADI courses safely, professionally and according to PADI standards. During the examination, candidates are evaluated on their teaching ability in Knowledge Development, Confined Water and Open Water presentations. They must demonstrate clear communication, proper skill demonstration, control of student divers and sound decision‑making. The IE also includes rescue skill evaluations and written exams covering PADI Standards and Dive Theory. The PADI IE is not a competition, but a quality‑control process ensuring that every new instructor meets the same high global standards. Successful completion qualifies candidates to teach PADI courses anywhere in the world and marks the official transition from dive professional to dive instructor

Your journey to becoming a professional diver starts here.
Our internship is the ideal path to gain real experience inside a professional dive center. Over a minimum stay of three months, you'll improve practical and theory skills while assisting daily operations. Training fees are waived in exchange for support, but PADI materials and accommodation are not included.
This option is popular—apply early and send your resume. You’ll work with real students, join the team, and learn directly from experienced instructors across guiding, logistics, course assisting and more.
A typical day runs from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, averaging 6–8 hours and 6–8 dives per week. You’ll move between boat, pool/confined water and classroom, assisting instructors and students. At 9:15 am you start Divemaster tasks: confined sessions, boat prep, and supporting OWD/AOW/Conservation courses.
Boat days take you to Bayahibe’s top dive sites—turtles, rays, barracuda and schooling fish. After two dives you return to the shop to rinse equipment, prep gear, fill tanks, and assist with daily operations. You’ll also learn customer interaction and shop workflow.
Dive. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. It soon becomes your lifestyle.
A paid professional program includes a fixed training fee. An internship reduces costs by exchanging training for assistance in daily operations. PADI materials and accommodation are not included.
Choose a paid course if you cannot stay 3+ months or already feel prepared for the next step. Choose an internship if you want to reinforce leadership, dive skills or dive theory with more hands‑on experience.
